Yes, we are a coffee company.  That’s what we do. That’s what we drink.  But we did not want to let our tea drinking friends down by serving bad tea. As our knowledge of coffee grows, the bar gets set higher and higher on the coffee’s we select to throw on a coffee bar at your event.  We began to see a HUGE gap developing between our commitment for quality coffee and the current tea we were offering beside it. So, about a year ago, we began the process of revamping what we are serving to you when it comes to tea.

Let us be honest though - we are not tea experts and don’t try to act like it.  We know we needed to get involved with someone that knew tea as well or better than we know coffee and we found just the people - t, an urban teahouse!

We met t’s (yes, little T is the name of the shop - awesome!) owner Kristy over a year ago and have been looking up to her as our tea mentor of sorts.  She is a member - with us - of Keep it Local and we knew the perfect person to educate us on how things work around her world. You might remember that wedding we did a few months back that featured tea?  Yup, that was them!

Ok, about our new tea program!  Here is how things are working from now on.  

We have done away with the 8 or so tea offerings we have been serving for the past two years or so and have decided to go with 4 premium loose leaf options instead! Each month or so, we will get teas directly from Kristy that fit into the following categories:

1. Black Tea

2. Green

3. Herbal

4. Chai (for hot lattes)

That being said, however, there are a few times this might change.  If a tea is just crazy good that doesn’t fit into the formula or gives us two blacks or something, we will still serve it.  Trust us, it will be a good thing.  We will try to keep the blog updated with what teas are going to be served and when we change them but you are always welcome to call and find out what is available.

A quick note about the Chai option.  This will stay the same. After cupping (sorry, Kristy! We don’t know what they call that in the tea world!) several different options, we decided on one that is both spicy and sweet that works perfect in the environment of mobile service that we find ourselves in. We steep this tea with a bit of cane sugar and add steamed milk for that perfect - bag in - chai latte!

As for how this fits into the new “coffee bar options” you see at CafeEvoke.com - they are included on the Specialty Coffee Bar!  If you want to add more tea selections or if you want a stand alone tea package, let us know and we will build something for you.
